Placing coarse salt in the corners of the house or under the bed is an energy purification practice stemming from various traditions—Feng Shui, shamanism, geomancy. But concretely, how does one perform the ritual correctly? How long should the salt be left? And most importantly, what do you do with it afterward? We answer all these questions, step by step.
Salt is often used to absorb what feels heavy, stagnant, or cumbersome in a room or routine. When the atmosphere feels oppressive, or after a busy day, a small salt ritual can help mark a transition and restore a sense of space.
It's also a great habit to incorporate into your yoga or meditation corner. A mat, a candle, a few deep breaths… and a space prepared with intention.
